Chandigarh's municipal corporation has launched a night-time enforcement drive against public littering, targeting offenders who dump waste after dark. This initiative aims to curb illegal dumping in public spaces, particularly in busy areas and near Mohali. The drive has led to a significant increase in fines issued, with numbers rising from 88 in October to 170 by mid-December. The corporation is using public complaints via apps and WhatsApp, alongside digital tracking, to identify and penalize offenders for various waste disposal violations.
