Siliguri faces deepening traffic congestion due to a surge in vehicles like two-wheelers, e-rickshaws, and cars, combined with a severe lack of organized parking. Roads are narrowed by roadside parking, leading to daily traffic snarls. While flyover projects aim to ease congestion, residents suggest utilizing spaces beneath them for parking. Local MP Raju Bista has appealed to the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways to use the space under the Balason-Sevoke Elevated Highway Corridor for parking.
