A global safety analysis of minoxidil, a common hair loss drug, has flagged risks of infant exposure leading to excessive hair growth and eye-related side effects. The study identified over 45 infant cases of hypertrichosis, with exposure linked to maternal use, accidental contact, or unknown routes. Globally, 1,660 eye-related adverse effects were reported, including serious conditions. Experts recommend clearer warnings and counseling to prevent harm, especially in households with infants.
