Grace Bell, born without a womb due to Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome, gave birth to Hugo Powell, the UK's first baby born after a womb transplant from a deceased donor. The 10-hour transplant surgery occurred in June 2024 at The Churchill Hospital, Oxford, followed by IVF treatment. Hugo was delivered in December 2025 at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital, weighing 3.09 kg. Bell and her partner expressed gratitude to the donor's family for their gift, describing the birth as a "miracle."
