The Rajasthan government has launched the seventh phase of its foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) control programme, aiming to vaccinate approximately 2.32 crore cattle, including cows and buffaloes, across all districts. The campaign, initiated by Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat from Ramdev Gaushala in Bagru near Jaipur, involves door-to-door vaccination drives. Officials emphasize that controlling FMD, a contagious viral disease affecting livestock, will improve animal health and farmers' income, targeting disease eradication in the state by 2030.
