In Amritsar district, 503 persons with disabilities received assistive devices valued at Rs 1.01 crore during five-day camps organized by ALIMCO with district administration support. Held from January 6-10, the camps distributed 1,148 devices, including battery-operated tricycles, wheelchairs, and hearing aids, tailored to individual needs. Special camps were previously held to assess requirements and prepare customized equipment, with distribution now occurring closer to beneficiaries' homes, particularly in border areas.
