Two India-born scientists, Professor Praveen K Jain and Professor Emeritus Chandrakant Padamshi Shah, have been appointed to the Order of Canada, the country's highest honour. Jain was recognized for his significant contributions as a leading inventor in electrical energy processing and his work in advancing efficient power generation. Shah was honored for transforming public health education nationwide, championing indigenous health, and reshaping Canada's citizenship exam. Governor General Mary Simon stated these appointments celebrate individuals whose work impacts communities and inspires progress globally.
