Mumbai is experiencing deteriorating air quality, with several areas recording poor Air Quality Index (AQI) levels, primarily due to PM10 and ozone. In response, the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has ordered the closure of four ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants and fined 37 others Rs 1.87 crore for violating pollution norms. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is also increasing inspections of construction sites and polluting units to mitigate the haze.
