Chennai will inaugurate a new public women's cancer screening center by February in Thousand Lights, costing Rs 1.23 crore. The facility will offer free screening for breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers, equipped with mammogram, laboratory, and ultrasound services. This initiative aims to bridge the gap in advanced diagnostic services, particularly for economically weaker women, and will also create a data registry for research and prevention strategies.
