The Punjab government is launching a statewide campaign, "Saade Buzurg, Saada Maan," starting January 16, to provide free medical camps for the elderly. The initiative includes dementia screening, geriatric caregiver training, eye and ENT check-ups, and cataract surgery screening. Pension, senior citizen, and Ayushman card formalities will also be facilitated. Legal aid for property disputes and domestic issues will be offered, building on a 2023 program. Additionally, a new 72-bed government old-age home in Mansa will open January 10, with grants allocated to existing homes and day-care centers.
