
A pilot project in Ahmedabad's Sankdi Sheri, a narrow historic street, aims to integrate heritage preservation with modern urban mobility. CEPT University is designing a Local Area Plan to tackle traffic congestion, enhance pedestrian spaces, and reclaim the public realm while respecting the area's cultural and historical context. This model, if approved by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, could be replicated in other precincts within the walled city, which is part of Ahmedabad's UNESCO World Heritage dossier.
