
Kerala Police conducted a statewide enforcement drive named 'White Line-Lifeline' from February 25 to 28 to improve pedestrian safety by ensuring compliance with zebra crossing rules. During the campaign, 46,926 vehicles were inspected, with 1,215 violations resulting in fines totaling Rs 3.04 lakh. Enforcement teams targeted major junctions and accident-prone areas, taking strict action against motorists ignoring pedestrian right of way. The police also encouraged public reporting of violations via the 'Shubhayatra' initiative and plan to continue such drives.
