Female Rhino Killed in Rare Tiger Attack at Dudhwa Tiger Reserve

A female rhino named Rajeshwari was killed in a rare tiger attack at the Amha water pool in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve's Rhino Rehabilitation Area-1. The incident was witnessed by mahouts during patrol, and a post-mortem confirmed the tiger attack as the cause of death. While tiger attacks on rhinos are uncommon due to their size and thick skin, past conflicts have occurred. Dudhwa houses around 46 rhinos under Project Rhino, which began in 1984 to restore the rhino population.
