
A fire broke out around 2:30-2:45 am on January 9 in a four-storey wooden building in Arki market, Solan district, Himachal Pradesh, destroying shops and residences. Three Nepalese nationals, including an eight-year-old child, have died, while six others, also Nepalese from Salyan, Karnali province, remain missing under debris. Rescue operations involving local authorities, SDRF, NDRF, and dog squads continue amid challenges from debris. Authorities have registered a case of negligence and launched an inquiry into the fire's cause, with DNA testing underway to identify recovered remains.
