Government Clarifies OPD Consultation Fees Under Revised CGHS Rate List

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has clarified the applicability of OPD consultation fees under the revised CGHS rate list effective from October 13, 2025. A Rs 700 fee applies only to consultations by Super Specialists (DM/MCh) in CGHS-empanelled hospitals, while Rs 350 applies to other specialists. For IPD cases, a maximum of two consultations per specialist per day are allowed. Reimbursement rules for non-empanelled hospitals remain subject to existing guidelines.
