A 24-year-old pregnant woman died in Gadchiroli after walking 6 kilometers from her remote village, which lacks medical facilities, to reach her sister's home. She experienced severe labor pains en route, and despite being taken to a hospital, both she and her baby died due to complications, possibly exacerbated by the arduous journey. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
