Thane's Nava Varsh Swagat Yatra to Focus on World Peace and Unity

The 'Nava Varsh Swagat Yatra' in Thane, scheduled for March 19 on Gudi Padwa, will center on world peace and unity, organizers said. Originating in Dombivali 26 years ago, the event now includes 13 mini-processions to encourage broad participation. The main procession will feature a Shivling tableau promoting global harmony and over 50 chariots highlighting themes like 'India 2047' and '150 years of Vande Mataram.' Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will inaugurate the festivities by garlanding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue.
