
In Hanamkonda, Telangana, police have registered a case against nine individuals following allegations of the killing of approximately 300 stray dogs. Animal welfare activists filed a complaint on January 9, accusing local officials and hired individuals of poisoning the dogs and disposing of their carcasses between January 6 and January 9. A case has been filed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, with further investigation ongoing.
