
Jeffrey R. Holland, a senior leader and former president of Brigham Young University within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), has died at age 85. The church announced his passing on Saturday, December 27, citing complications from kidney disease. Holland, who served as an Apostle and was the second-longest-serving member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, had a career spanning academia and religious leadership.
