A protest by contract workers at the Panipat Refinery escalated into violence when security personnel asked them to stay within a designated area. Workers, citing grievances such as delayed salaries, wage deductions, extended shifts, and poor facilities, reportedly pelted stones and vandalized vehicles, injuring two CISF personnel. Security forces fired warning shots to disperse the crowd. Police and refinery officials later engaged with worker representatives to address the issues amid heightened security presence.
