Uttarakhand Begins Relocation of Families Affected by 2025 Dharali Floods

The Uttarakhand government has begun relocating 115 families affected by the August 2025 Dharali flash floods, which buried parts of the village under debris and caused 69 deaths. A geological inspection of land identified by 30 families in Bhatwari was conducted to assess safety and stability. Officials will continue inspections for other families upon land proposals. The administration aims to resettle those whose homes were destroyed and currently lack proper housing, with a detailed report pending for further approvals.
