Chandigarh Launches Evening OPD at GMSH Sector 16 to Enhance Secondary Healthcare

Chandigarh's Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH) Sector 16 has launched an evening outpatient department (OPD) from 5 pm to 7 pm, attending 25 patients during its trial run. This initiative, directed by UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, aims to strengthen secondary healthcare by ensuring specialist availability and reducing referrals to tertiary institutions. The Health Department plans to extend evening OPDs to civil hospitals following this pilot.
