Kolkata Metro will enhance security and operate additional services on New Year's Eve, December 31, to manage expected large crowds. Key stations, including Esplanade, Park Street, Maidan, Rabindra Sadan, Dum Dum, and Dakshineswar, will see increased Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, including women officers. Special teams and quick response units will be on standby for emergencies. Eight additional services will run on the Blue Line between Dakshineswar and Shahid Khudiram, with one extending to Dum Dum, to ensure smooth passenger movement.
