
In 2025, Kamrup district reported significant child protection achievements, preventing 350 child marriages and rescuing 10 trafficked children, all girls. These efforts were a result of collaboration between the district administration, law enforcement, and organizations like the Assam Centre for Rural Development (ACRD). Nationwide, child protection networks prevented nearly 200,000 child marriages and rescued over 55,000 children from trafficking, with a majority of rescued children being boys.
