Thousands of contractual employees under Maharashtra's Samagra Shiksha scheme, who have worked for nearly two decades, are demanding job regularisation. While the state government regularised about 3,000 staff in October 2024, over 3,300 remain excluded. Previous protests included demonstrations during the state legislature's winter session and meetings with top officials, who gave verbal assurances but no final decision.
