Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the fifth edition of Chennai Sangamam: Namma Ooru Thiruvizha, a four-day festival celebrating Tamil folk arts during the Pongal harvest festival. The event, running until January 18 across 20 venues in Chennai, features over 1,500 artists performing more than 50 folk forms, including therukkoothu, villupattu, silambam, and tribal dances, alongside a food festival and fashion show. Organised under MP Kanimozhi's initiative since 2007 and revived post-2022, the festival also includes guest performances from other Indian states.
