Dalit Couple Barred from Karnataka Temple; Man Arrested Under SC/ST Act

In Karnataka's Tumakuru district, a newlywed Dalit couple was allegedly humiliated and forced to leave the Arasamma Temple in Goni village after an upper-caste man, Narayanappa, pretended to be possessed by a deity and barred their entry. A video shows him blocking the pathway and shouting at the couple. Following a complaint by the victim's family, police registered an FIR under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, arrested Narayanappa, and are investigating others involved.
