Delhi Records Poorest Air Quality and Highest February Temperatures in Three Years

Delhi experienced its poorest February air quality in three years, with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 234 till February 26, according to CREA. The city recorded 20 'poor' and two 'very poor' air quality days, with ozone as the dominant pollutant on 21 of 27 days. Concurrently, February was also the hottest in three years, with temperatures reaching 31.9°C. Experts link these conditions to a severe rainfall deficit and weak western disturbances, which limited pollutant washout and cooling effects.
