The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is installing high-visibility nets and robust fencing along median dividers on the Navale bridge stretch of the Pune-Bengaluru bypass. This measure aims to prevent pedestrians and two-wheelers from crossing the highway, a factor contributing to numerous fatal accidents. The bypass segment, known for its steep gradients and high-speed traffic, has been identified as a safety black spot, with recent incidents highlighting the dangers posed by speeding vehicles and crossing traffic.
