
After nearly 25 years apart, Sushila Murmu, who converted to Christianity before marriage, was traced to her family in Jharkhand's Godda district through amateur radio volunteers. Despite a video call reunion with her son, Madan Besra, he refused to accept her unless she reconverted to Hinduism. Murmu declined, citing her commitment to her faith. She remains in a Kolkata shelter, with religious differences preventing her return to her village, where her Christian identity had previously caused social exclusion.
