Fire at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Surgical ICU Causes No Injuries

A fire broke out on March 17 in the surgical ICU of the Government Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram due to a short circuit in a ventilator. All 32 patients were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The fire was brought under control quickly, with hospital staff following protocols. Officials, including the state health minister and city mayor, confirmed the situation is stable and inspections of ventilators and electrical systems are ongoing.
