Unseasonal rains and strong winds have caused significant damage to standing Rabi crops and orchards across Maharashtra's Marathwada region, particularly in Beed, Latur, and Nanded districts. Over 230 villages and nearly 19,000 hectares of farmland were affected, with crops like jowar, wheat, gram, maize, mango, and watermelon damaged. Two deaths due to lightning strikes were reported. Local officials and politicians have called for damage assessments and compensation for affected farmers.
