The viral images led to the toy selling out in multiple countries, including the US, Japan, and South Korea, with resale prices soaring over ten times the original cost. IKEA Japan responded by donating additional toys to the zoo. The plush is part of a collection aimed at raising awareness about endangered wildlife.
