
A wild elephant entered Ranchi, Jharkhand's capital, on February 27, causing panic among residents. The animal was spotted near Hawai Nagar and the National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology around 5 a.m. Forest officials deployed a team to safely drive it out, taking precautions due to school hours. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren highlighted concerns over man-elephant conflicts, noting 27 recent deaths across several districts and urging measures to prevent further casualties.
