The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking is reviewing records of nearly 3,000 bus drivers, including those on wet lease, to identify individuals with past suspensions or violations. Those found with such records will be removed from active driving duties. This directive follows an accident where a driver with a prior suspension was involved. BEST will also implement mandatory refresher training for e-bus drivers. Union leaders expressed concerns about controlling wet lease drivers and finding drivers with spotless records.
