Chinese Boy Wins Lawsuit Over Father’s Use of Red Packet Savings for Remarriage

A 10-year-old Chinese boy, Xiaohui, sued his father after the latter withdrew over 82,000 yuan (around Rs 10 lakh) of red packet savings, accumulated over several years, to fund his remarriage. The court ruled that red packet money given during festivals is the child's personal property, ordering the father to return the full amount including interest.
