The Greek Coast Guard has rescued 840 migrants over five days in waters south of Crete. On December 28, 131 migrants were rescued off the southern coast. The previous day saw 395 people rescued near the island of Gavdos. All rescued individuals were transferred to the port of Gavdos. The nationalities of the migrants have not been identified.
