Eight Botswana Cheetahs to Arrive at Kuno National Park; Gamini Delivers Fourth Cub

Eight cheetahs from Botswana, including six females and two males, are scheduled to arrive at Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park on February 28, 2026, as part of India's cheetah revival programme. They will be airlifted by Indian Air Force aircraft to Gwalior and then transported by helicopters to Kuno, where they will undergo a month-long quarantine. This third batch will raise India's cheetah population to 46. Separately, a South African cheetah named Gamini at Kuno has given birth to her fourth cub, increasing the total number of cheetahs in India to 39, including 28 India-born cubs.
