Nine cheetahs from Botswana arrived at Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park, increasing India's cheetah population to 48 as part of a four-year revival program. The animals were transported by Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters to quarantine enclosures before gradual release. Separately, female cheetah Gamini at Kuno gave birth to her fourth cub, raising the total cheetah count in India to 39, including 28 India-born cubs. Officials emphasize ongoing monitoring and scientific management to support population growth and genetic diversity.
