King George's Medical University's prosthetic and orthotic unit has faced a six-year staffing crisis, operating with only one permanent employee and numerous vacant technical positions. Despite these constraints and a congested workshop, the unit manufactures 83 types of devices. While KGMU officials state vacancies have been compiled and recruitment is planned, concerns persist over the functioning of this key limb rehabilitation center.
