Millions Participate in Mauni Amavasya Bathing at Prayagraj Amid Tight Security

Millions of devotees gathered at Prayagraj's Sangam Ghat to take a holy dip during the Mauni Amavasya festival, with around 1.5 crore bathing on January 17 and an estimated three to four crore expected overall. Authorities implemented extensive security, crowd management, and traffic control measures, including new ghats, zonal divisions, and deployment of thousands of police and sanitation workers. Despite foggy conditions, officials emphasized safety and smooth conduct of the ritual amid large crowds.
