Manipur's Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is 282 per 100,000 live births, significantly higher than the 2010-11 rate of 80, with hemorrhage as a major cause. To address this, a District-Level Review Meeting of the Maternal Death Committee was held in Bishnupur, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam. The meeting focused on analyzing causes of maternal deaths, identifying systemic failures, and developing strategies to improve maternal healthcare and prevent future incidents.
