The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to install rooftop solar panels on 18 Mumbai Fire Brigade stations as part of its Mumbai Climate Action Plan aiming for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The Rs 13.50 crore project targets generating 790 KW of power and reducing electricity costs by at least 10%. Selection of stations was based on space availability, with structural and shadow analyses planned to optimize efficiency. Future phases may extend solar installations to other municipal buildings.
