Madhya Pradesh CM Releases Five Rescued Vultures with Geo-Tagging for Conservation

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav released five rescued vultures—four Indian vultures and one Cinereous vulture—into the wild near Halali dam. The birds, previously treated at the Vulture Conservation Breeding Centre, were geo-tagged with GPS-GSM transmitters to monitor their movements, aiding conservation efforts. MP hosts the largest vulture population in India, including migratory species along the Central Asian Flyway. This release follows a 2025 effort where some vultures died, prompting ongoing monitoring and collaboration with conservation organizations.
