Odisha's Gajapati district has launched the 'Aame Padhibaa Aama Bhasare' programme to provide pre-school education in the Saura tribal language. Covering 30 anganwadi centres in Gumma and Rayagada blocks, the initiative targets children aged three to six and aligns with the National Education Policy 2020's emphasis on mother tongue instruction. The government, in partnership with the Piramal Foundation, plans to extend similar programmes to five other tribal-majority districts using indigenous languages.
