Chandigarh's Health Department plans to install porta cabin shelters at government hospitals to provide temporary accommodation for patients and their attendants. A 25-bed facility will be set up at GMSH-16, with 10-bed cabins at civil hospitals in Manimajra, Sector 22, and Sector 45. This initiative aims to offer basic shelter to those coming from distant areas who may not afford external accommodation, addressing a long-standing need for overnight stay facilities.
