Rare 3rd-Century BC Buddhist Relic Displayed Publicly at Odisha's Lalitgiri

A rare Buddhist relic dating back to the 3rd century BC was brought out of the Archaeological Survey of India's Lalitgiri Museum in Odisha for public display during the second Guru Padmasambhava ceremony on January 16, 2026. The event featured rituals, prayers, and meditation honoring Guru Padmasambhava, a key figure in Vajrayana Buddhism. The display, coordinated by ASI and state departments, aimed to promote Odisha's Buddhist heritage while ensuring the relic's preservation and security.
