Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Launch HPV Vaccination Drives to Prevent Cervical Cancer

On February 28, 2026, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh launched HPV vaccination programs to prevent cervical cancer among adolescent girls. Telangana's initiative began at King Koti District Hospital in Hyderabad, involving health officials and parents, while Andhra Pradesh's drive was inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Raavivalasa village, Vizianagaram district. The Andhra Pradesh program aims to vaccinate approximately 340,000 girls under state-run public health systems as part of a nationwide effort.
