The wife of Prashant Sreekumar, an Indian-origin man who died in Canada after waiting over eight hours for treatment at Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, is seeking justice for alleged medical negligence. Niharika Sreekumar stated that her husband, a resident of Canada for 25 years, needed only a day of care and believes he would have received timely treatment in India, potentially saving his life. Sreekumar was admitted on December 22 with chest pain and underwent initial checks before a prolonged wait for further treatment.
