Deteriorating and deserted Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) flats in Bhalswa, north Delhi, are slated for redevelopment into a modern residential complex. The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) has initiated a tender process for repairs, aiming to make the 7,400 flats habitable again. Despite hundreds of eligible families identified, a significant number remain empty due to poor condition, including faulty wiring and water seepage. The government plans to address this long-standing issue, aiming for redevelopment within six months.
